Mandate
1. Introduction
On January 18,
2000, the first group of NSUe users formed the "International NSUe
Usergroup", INUG.
This mandate describes the goal, general rules within the Usergroup as well as
confidentiality aspects that have been agreed during the meeting held in
Düsseldorf, January 18th, 2000.
2. INUG Goals
The INUG has the following goals:
· Drive the future Marconi Communications development of NSUe by providing a forum for inputs of NSUe users.
· Share the experiences of NSUe implementation, design and live running.
· To review and list the problems of NSUe User Group members.
· Encourage Telecomm suppliers to integrate with NSUe.
· Encourage Marconi Communications to open NSUe for Third Party products.
· Provide information on Third Party products.
· Provided formal product change requests to NSUe.
· Aid Marconi Communications to make NSUe solutions successful.
· Establish a trustfull relation towards Marconi Communications
3. Membership
INUG membership is open to any operator
and user with a contract for using the NSUe product(s).
Individual membership is not possible, membership is only offered per company.
Every member has to agree on and sign the mandate, thereby protecting their own
interest, as well as the interest of other members (confidentiality).
There is no limitation on the number of representatives per membership attending INUG meetings, but this should be kept to a reasonable level. New members are to contact one of the INUG elected officers to apply for membership.
Any member is free to resign from the INUG at any time without obligation.
4. Officers
Elected officers are to lead and direct the INUGgroup, three officers will be elected per meeting. One officer must be an employee of the company hosting the INUG meeting; another officer must be an employee of company who will host the next INUG meeting. The third officer maybe any member of the INUG.
These officers must organize, prepare and minute the coming meeting, keep the mandate up to date, represent the INUG members in other Usergroup, and protect the interest of the INUG and its members.
5. Frequency of INUG meetings
The INUG will meet two times a year; INUG companies will alternate the hosting of each meeting. One of the meetings should coincide with the NSUe Users Forum meeting, with one extra day for only for members only.
Additional meetings may be requested any time by more than 50% of the members.
6. Marconi Communications
Marconi Communications as vendor of the NSUe product(s), may only participate in the INUG meetings after an invitation from the INUG group. This can also be settled as fixed agenda point, to give them the opportunity to present new developments and answer INUG questions.
7. Finance
Membership of the INUG is free of charge. No member will ever be held responsible for the cost resulting from initiative of any other member. All costs, such as travel, hotel, and meals as well as cost resulting from hosting an INUG meeting are to be borne by the initiative taker.
8. Confidentiality
All INUG members have to treat the information presented by or handed out by other INUG members as strictly confidential and use it only for the sole purpose of fulfilling the goals of the INUG. All documents should be marked as strictly confidential.
Before any member hands out information to any other member, they have to ensure that it does not violate any confidentiality obligations.
The INUG can not be held liable for possible misuse of information used or presented during INUG meetings, but will do its utmost to protect the interest of their members.
9. Liability
Each member will make its best effort to give correct information and positive advice to other members. The informing member will not have any liability as to the of accuracy the information supplied.
10. Mandate changes
Suggested changes should be forwarded to the elected officers in written format. They will then be discussed, approved or refused at the next INUG meeting. Changes to this mandate are subject to the approval.of 2/3rd's of INUG members.
11. Procedures
Minutes of meeting
The member hosting an INUG meeting will prepare the necessary minutes, take care of document distribution and prepare possible follow up material if required.
User Group requirement List
The users group will maintain a list of requirements for product enhancements. Item in the list will have a priority (1 to 3, where 3 is the highest priority), a status (proposed or agreed) and a „coach“ (the company that accepted to take the lead in formulating the requirement). The coach will compile a mutually agreed brief detailed specification with input of the memebers within one month and forward it to the secretary for distribution and approval by all memebers. This will be done by E-mail. The specification will then be forwarded to Marconi Communications.
Items my be put on he list any time. They enter the list with status proposed. Priorities will be assigned during the users group meetings. The status will then be set to approved.
For approved items Marconi Communications has to provide a qualified answer within 2 months.
Circulation of meeting locations & officers
INUG meeting locations will rotate on regular basis between all members. To have an optimal organization of the meetings, one officer must be elected from the hosting company and one from the company hosting previous meeting. An officer when elected will stand for at least two meetings. Officers may be elected from any of the members.
Membership application
Members may object to applications at the next INUG meeting by 2/3rd majority.
Membership application is subject to approval of the INUG. An interested party should contact any of the three elected officers. Applicants must have a NSUe contract, which will be verified by Marconi Communications . Once verification is received, applicants will be sent a copy of the mandate and a membership list; they will be invited to attend the next INUG meeting. Membership will be ratified at the next INUG meeting.
The applicant once accepted has to return a signed mandate as confirmation of acceptance to become a full INUG member.
Representation of the INUG
The elected officers will represent the INUG at other usergroups and inform all members regarding the results of these meetings. INUG members are free to send their own representative to such meetings.
Any external representation, including presentations towards Marconi Communications, has to be agreed by all members.
